    In 2021, Agnes Tirop was murdered by her then partner, just a few weeks after setting a world record in a race in Germany. This viscious & heartbreaking murder, led her friend and fellow athlete, Viola Cheptoo to powerfully stand up and call for change. Josina wants to start a shelter for survivors in Mozambique, so we took her to one of the most impactful shelters for survivors in Kenya, the Kenya Women & Children's Wellness Center.

    In this episode, meet Njeri Wa Migwe the founder of USIKIMYE and organization that is working to end sexual and gender based violence. In 2020 alone, she rescued 4385 women & girls, 361 children and 14 infants. Usikimye runs 3 safehouses (2 for women & girls and 1 for men). They also run a toll-free line where survivors can reach out for support. They get, on average, 150 calls & social media rescue requests, per day.
